I first met Paul Tankosic, or Tank as he has become to be known at Rangers, through playing school soccer when we were teenagers at Unley High. Some of my earliest footballing memories from those days are Tank attempting speculative bicycle kicks (which he nailed a few times successfully I must add) and hammering some wicked volleys that were like missiles on goal. Since moving to the Rangers last season I had a chance to reconnect with Tank and get back to playing along-side him after so many years. Although I haven’t been at Rangers for all of his 50 games, what I have seen from him on the pitch is that he is a player who is really solid defensively and always works his hardest for the benefit of the team regardless of what position he plays. As his coach this season it’s been a pleasure watching him hit his stride and putting in some real solid shifts in centre back as part of a back 3 in season 2021.
He is a guy who always has a massive smile on his face when he walks into the club and everyone who is around him vibes off of that. If you were to ask anyone at the club, they would all say that they would love to have a player like Tank on their team.
Tank, a massive congratulations on playing 50 games for the might Rangers playing alongside you and coaching you week in and week out has been an absolute privilege and I look forward to the many more games and memories in the years to come!
From your coach, teammate, and most of all your friend
